The Home Economist Market is Charlotte’s
neighborhood health food store. We have been open for over 25
years & have specialized in carrying products to fit our
customer’s diverse lifestyles. People who follow a vegan or
vegetarian diet will find many products available in our store.
We have a full line of vitamin products that are in vegetarian
capsules instead of gelatin capsules & all the other supplements
you might need to go along with your diet ex: protein powders,
hemp protein powders, hemp oil, b-complex, iron, & multi
vitamins & minerals made from whole foods. We also have several
lines of beauty products that are cruelty free including BWC
(beauty without cruelty), Aubrey, & MyChelle to name a few.

The Home Economist Market has a wide

also have a comment/suggestion area so if you can’t find what you
are looking for feel free to request it; we can also special order
in case quantities where you will receive a 10% discount.
Bulk Foods are our specialty, we have the
largest bulk foods selection in town. You can find bulk granolas,
grains, seeds & beans, nuts, spices, flours, candy, coffee, teas,
medicinal herbs, Fantastic Foods mixes, dried fruit, snacks & snack
mixes. We also have grinders to grind fresh peanut butter or almond
butter. Bulk buying saves money & packaging, you can bring in your
own containers to fill just be sure to have the weight tared at the
register before you fill.
The Home Economist Market has a fine selection
of beer & wine; including local, organic, vegan, & specialty items.
If you are thinking of becoming a vegan or vegetarian or just have a
few questions be sure to check out our book section; we have
cookbooks & informational books to help you with the transition. Our
produce department carries mostly organic fruits & vegetables. We
also focus on local produce that may not be certified organic but is
grown using organic methods.
